We will measure whether dictation succeeded, not collect the words you dictated as routine product analytics.
rcvd is a Mac app that turns speech into text wherever your cursor is. Hold one shortcut, speak naturally, release—and the text appears. Even when you switch languages mid-sentence.

Open the message, document, task, or prompt you want to write.
Speak normally. Switch languages whenever the thought does.
rcvd puts the text at your cursor so you can keep working.
Voice typing is already a familiar category. rcvd focuses on the part generic dictation still makes awkward: multilingual work with names, product terms, and English technical vocabulary.
Use the mix of languages that already belongs in your work. No language toggle before every thought.
Teach rcvd the names, commands, frameworks, and spellings you use every day.
Clean up punctuation and obvious repetition without silently translating or changing the point.
rcvd lives in the menu bar and appears only when you hold the shortcut. Choose your languages, teach it important words, and recover the last result if an app refuses direct insertion.
Audio is sensitive. Before the first invite, we will publish the selected transcription provider, retention rules, and every diagnostic event the app sends.

Audio or text can be attached to a bad-result report only when you choose to share it.
The beta will explain when audio leaves your Mac, who processes it, and how long it is retained.
We are inviting in small batches so we can learn which language pairs and workflows need attention before a wider release.

The macOS app is ready for private beta, but there is no public download yet. Join the list to get access as we invite the first groups of testers.
The first language pairs are being selected through a reproducible benchmark. Russian plus English and German plus English are current test cases, not finished compatibility claims.
Not by default. The core mode keeps the languages and meaning you spoke, while cleaning up obvious repetition, punctuation, and casing. Translation and rewriting, if added later, will be separate choices.
The MVP is expected to use cloud transcription. We will name the provider and publish exact retention rules before sending the first beta invite.
On macOS, rcvd is designed to insert text wherever your cursor is. The private beta will help us validate edge cases across different text fields.
iOS, Windows, and Android versions are in progress. macOS is the first platform available for private beta.
